| Additional Information |
The world of hip hop (and its enthusiasts) is constantly changing. Yet amid the revolution there is a constant, veteran emcee L*Roneous da? versifier. L*Roneous is an artist that seems to stay on the rise. Known as new school emcee supreme to the hearts and minds of the independent faithful, L*Roneous melds conscious thought, wit, social commentary, and an impeccable sense of style in a mesh of what the artist coins as his own ?odd talk?. Odd, purely because it is not considered to be the norm in today?s climate of street tales laden with gunplay and misogyny. Lyricism is the focal point. L*Roneous brings to mind echoes of hip hop past with a definite ear for hip hop?s future with a sullen wave of Rakim?s arsenal, Chuck D?s powerful noise, and KRS One?s edutainment. The sound not only entertains, it captivates. And the ?odd talk? has been featured in various L*Roneous (and collaborative) releases throughout the years. His debut LP, Imaginarium, was heralded as an underworld classic back in 1999 and still stands as a mark for a great album. Other notable releases include the Dreamweavers LP (2001) and the Directors? Cuts EP (2002), which gained marginal success, but L was only preparing the world for a second coming of his solo work. And the time is now. ?Purposely Powerful? is the title of the new album and exactly how L*Roneous plans to take the world by storm.
