Buy, Sell, Trade...
After releasing the critically acclaimed ?Souled Separately? in the winter of 2003, the Feenom Circle are again expanding their niche of middle ground hip-hop with the release of ?The Pawn Shop? project. ?The Pawn Shop? embraces several sounds, styles and moods while dealing with concepts of social ills, childhood nostalgia, and club-scene narrations to name a few. ?The Pawn Shop? is a project synonymous with a place where intimate items are sold at discount and is the Feenom Circle?s third middle ground offering.
Feeling like the underground wasn?t growing with their musical tastes, the Feenom Circle began to redefine their music. Combining their multiple experiences, identities, and tastes, the Feenoms are producing music that is neither mainstream nor underground, but a hybrid utilizing the best qualities of both extremes of hip-hop. The Feenoms now occupy the creative space lying between the glitter of mainstream rap and the subterranean grit of underground hip-hop, hence middle ground. The resulting sound is something that can be appreciated by the masses and backpackers alike. However, the middle ground?s true epicenter is with Melatone Music, the Feenom Circle and, in this instance, ?The Pawn Shop.?
The Feenom Circle is a group hailing from the SF Bay Area. Spanning many walks of life, the Feenom Circle is an evolving group who started selling their music on street corners with their first release, ?Prescriptions.? The Feenoms had their first nationwide release with ?Souled Separately? and are now preparing for the worldwide release of ?The Pawn Shop.?
