About Chicken George:
With heavy emphasis on the music, DJ Chicken George has emerged as a globetrotting, groove merchant whose diverse sessions are unpredictable, energetic and heart-felt by his listeners.
DJ Chicken George's unique style of incorporating and fusing various styles of music with intricate scratching techniques has granted him several appearances at cultural arts and music events in Mexico, Sweden, Paris, Amsterdam and across the US including URB magazine's Firecracker event series, dublab.com radio and many music venues throughout Los Angeles, New York and Philly. He also deejayed on an extensive radio and club tour of San Francisco including the Milk Bar, Betalounge Radio and the Beatsauce radio show hosted by Om Record's recording artist, J-Boogie. DJ Chicken George performed at the Sprite Liquid Mix tour with The Neptunes, The Roots and Talib Kweli. Chicken George has also shared the stage with many hip-hop legends including Pete Rock, DJ Premier of Gangstarr, Grandmaster Flash, Biz Markie, DJ Craze, MF Doom and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
More than just a club DJ, Chicken George embodies the creative spirit of hip-hop culture. He is an artistic entrepreneur, blending eclectic new sounds and old tracks together, collaborating with graphic designers and emcees, making radio sets feel like live shows and live shows a celebration of music.
"I've always loved listening to music. It was something that I enjoyed more than any other activity as a child. I could become completely engulfed and lost in music any time I wanted." - Chicken George
DJ Chicken George transformed his hobby into a career when he purchased his first set of turntables after graduating from high school. He then dedicated his time to developing his musical tastes and talent.
DJ Chicken George knew at a young age that his intrigue and passion for music would become a life-long endeavor. His appreciation for music can largely be attributed to his parents who made music an important part of family life. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, later moved to Houston, Texas and is currently living in Austin, Texas. Arriving in March of 2003, he quickly became a local favorite and was voted Best Live (Club/Party) DJ for the Austin Chronicle "Best of Austin '04" Readers' Poll. CG also released his first EP on the world renowned, Stockholm-based label, Swedish Brandy. His release, DJ Chicken George Presents: The Swed.U.S.H Connection is distributed worldwide.
