Additional Information
"The future face of hip-hop."

Helping people understand the things they can't see, Portland-born, Braille uses this one sentence to explain the meaning behind his name and music.

It's the most accurate definition of my style he explains. The poetic temperament and concepts of his lyrics intrigue listeners from the outset.

Braille (original name, Bryan Winchester) often expresses things of either a spiritual, emotional or personal nature; visual lyrics that paint pictures of the unseen have become a trademark stamp of Braille's style.

Braille released Shades of Grey in 2004 which led to the MC being named Lyricist Of The Year and his record was named, Album Of The Year by sphereofhiphop.com. The record boasts an array of contributors from some of the hip-hop industry's luminaries such as: 9th Wonder (Jay Z) and Rob Swift (X-Ecutioners).

In 2005 popular music magazine, URB included Braille as one of the Next 100 artists to watch out for. The underground success of his first record firmly placed Braille on the radar, winning the respect of the hip-hop fraternity worldwide.

Over the last two years Braille has been touring relentlessly and opening shows across the world for legendary artists such as; Gift of Gab from Blackalicious, James Brown, and De La Soul. His latest album, Box of Rhymes was released last month exclusively in Japan through Universal/Handcuts. A US release is expected early next year ('07) with some surprise guest vocalists and MCs including, Grammy-winner from Arrested Development outfit, Speech. You can check out the track this month with MOJO Magazine's sampler issue.

"In this world filled with emcees, very few can simply stand and engage their audience. Yet, Braille is incredibly effective at capturing the listener with passionate material that is so sweet to the ear." - sphereofhiphop.com

"Braille is a true lyricist with honesty and passion, yet with enough gusto to make your ear drums feel the raw impact of his words. The level of detail to creativity, display a moment and make you feel it without seeing it, is what makes Braille, Braille." - Ohmega Watts (member of Lightheaded, producer and Ubiquity recording artist).

"Braille is widely viewed as one of hip-hop's most innovative and exciting indie stars." - MOJO Magazine
